Here are a few get to know you starters that you can use to start a conversation with your Little and get to know him/her better.
• Favorites- For this you need to come up with some categories (movies, books, shows, video games, food,) and then have your Little write a list of his favorite things according to the categories, and you do the same. Go through and compare favorites. This is a good way to get your Little talking and you two can learn a little bit more about each other and what you have in common.
• 2 truths 1 lie- Take turns telling each other three statements. Two of these should be true and one of them should be a lie. You will have to guess which one is a truth and which one is a lie. You can also do the reserve and tell 2 lies and 1 truth.
• Would you rather- This is a game I play with my little a lot. You come up with two scenarios and ask your little which she/he would prefer. For instance, would you rather have knee length hair or a foot long Mohawk? Have your Little choose and then tell you why she/he made his decision. This website has some great suggestions to get you started and then you and your Little can come up with some on your own.
• What would you do if: Come up with scenarios like, “what would you do if you won the lottery today,” and have your Little tell you what she/ he would do. You can share your answers as well. This is a great conversation starter.
