Site Based

Bigs and littles meet weekly during the school year at a designated site. Matches only meet while school is in session and resume the following school year.

There are lots of ways to be a Big Brother or Big Sister. Sometimes the consistency of knowing when and where you’ll meet your Little Brother or Little Sister makes for a perfect match.

In Site-Based mentoring, Bigs and Littles meet weekly at a consistent time and place throughout the school year.  At the match site, which is the Little’s school, they spend time together doing activities. Matches play games, work on crafts, do shared projects or homework — anything they can do together at their site. We provide activity bins with a variety of activities for matches to utilize.

The Littles in our Site-Based Mentoring program are elementary and middle-school students around the Middle Tennessee area. Just like in our traditional Community-Based Mentoring, Big Brothers Big Sisters staff are there to support you every step of the way to help your match flourish. Sometimes staff are on-site whenever the matches meet to offer support.

in their words

“I love having Sarah for a Big Sister because she's so nice; she tells me that she's not good at everything too and that makes me feel good."
