School Based

You will be visiting your Little’s school during the school day.

Playing board game 1014

At the beginning of your relationship, you and your Match Support Specialist (the designated social worker for your case) will determine what time slot your Little has free that matches with your work or lunch schedule, and you will go to school and have lunch together, work on assignments, or maybe play a board game in the school library.

There is an Activity Box at each school where we have a program with crafts and other activities to consider, or maybe you go out to the playground and shoot some basketball.

You may even encounter other volunteers and mentees at the same school during your same time frame, and you might also encounter your designated staff person there checking to make sure everything is going well.

We offer this option at a number of Middle Tennessee area schools.  If one of these listed below is near your home or work, maybe this is the option for you!

“I love having Sarah for a Big Sister because she's so nice; she tells me that she's not good at everything too and that makes me feel good."
