REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for Bigs
- You don’t anticipate any major life changes within the next year (starting school, graduating, changing jobs, having a baby, etc.)
- You’ve lived in Middle Tennessee for a minimum of 3 months
- You’re not a high school student or college undergraduate (exception may be made for non-traditional students)
- You reside in one of the following counties:*
Davidson
Williamson
Rutherford
Wilson
Sumner
Robertson
Dickson
Cheatham
*Volunteers who work in one of these counties are eligible for our site-based program.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS PER PROGRAM
COMMUNITY-BASED
- 21 or older
- You can commit to every week for at least one calendar year
- You’ve been in your current employment position for a minimum of three months
- You have reliable transportation
SITE-BASED
- 18 or older
- You can commit to every week for one hour during the school day for at least one school year
- You’ve been in your current employment position for a minimum of three months
- You have reliable transportation
Site-Based: LGbtq-focused
- 21 or older
- You are willing and able to commit to communicating virtually with a child on a youth on a weekly basis for at least on year
SPORTS BUDDIES
- You are 21 or older
- You can commit to meeting with a child two Saturdays a month for a minimum of 6 months
- You have reliable transportation
E-MENTORING
- 21 or older
- You can commit to two school years
- You are willing to attend 3 in-person sessions with your Little annually (in-person sessions are held virtually at this time)
