About our Keynote Speaker

Marcus Whitney

Marcus Whitney is a Founding Partner of Jumpstart Health Investors (JHI), the most active early-stage healthcare venture capital firm in America. Of JHI’s funds, Marcus leads Jumpstart Nova, the first healthcare venture fund in America investing exclusively in Black-founded and led startups. Marcus is also co-founder and minority owner of Major League Soccer team, Nashville Soccer Club. Marcus is the author of the Amazon #1 best-selling book "Create and Orchestrate", about claiming your Creative Power through entrepreneurship. His work has been featured by Entrepreneur, CNBC, Inc., NPR, Fast Company, and The Atlantic. Marcus is an Aspen Health Innovators Fellow, and a member of the board of the Healthcare Finance Management Association, Celtic Bank, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, OZ Arts, and Scott Hamilton CARES. Marcus actively competes in Jiu Jitsu, is an IBJJF World Master Champion, and trains on the competition team at Renzo Gracie Nashville under Shawn Williams. He is married and has two adult sons.

Meet Our Event MC Dr. LuSheena Jones-Coofer

Dr. LuSheena Jones-Coofer is passionate about working with students on their journey of learning and success which lead her to a career as a School Psychologist for Metro Nashville Public Schools, Facilitator for Wilson Summer Scholars at Montgomery Bell Academy and currently for Elevation Healthcare in a remote capacity. As a dedicated and thought-provoking Education Professional, she has over a decade of experience in cognitive and academic testing, and counseling of students and over 20 years of community service project planning and facilitation. LuSheena is a graduate of the Tennessee State University where she received her B.S. in Biological Sciences and M.S. and Ed.S in School Psychology. She earned her Doctorate in Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University on August 15, 2022. Currently, Dr. Jones-Coofer is in her second term serving on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee Board of Directors. She simultaneously serves on the Greek Life Advisory Council. Prior to serving on the Board of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, LuSheena served nine years on the Parent Advisory Council and two years as a Big. LuSheena was the speaker for Ask Breakfast in 2015 and a spotlight speaker in 2016. Most recently she was highlighted at the 2023 Breakfast.

Parking will be free for all guests at Music City Center. The picture to the right is the entrance you all will use to enter Bridgestone Arena.  It is the south entrance on Demunbreun.
